How the free breakfast clubs work
A school on the programme must run a breakfast club that is open to every pupil on roll from Reception to Year 6, lasts at least 30 minutes immediately before the start of each school day, is free, and serves a breakfast that meets the school food standards. The club is held at the school or close to it.
Some schools also run a longer, paid-for club that starts earlier. No child can be made to attend the paid-for time to get the free 30 minutes, and schools must not add charges that would put families off using the free club.
The Department for Education adds schools to its list as they join the programme, and we check the list every month. If your child's school is not listed yet, ask the school whether it has joined. Frequently asked questions
How many schools on the free breakfast clubs programme are there in Lincolnshire?
There are 56 schools on the free breakfast clubs programme in Lincolnshire listed on School Signal, of which 26 are rated Outstanding or Good by Ofsted.
Which school with a free breakfast club in Lincolnshire has the best Ofsted rating?
Springwell Alternative Academy Mablethorpe is among the highest rated free breakfast clubs in Lincolnshire, judged Outstanding at its most recent Ofsted inspection.
Do I have to pay for the breakfast club at a school in Lincolnshire?
Not for the free part. A school on the programme must offer at least 30 minutes of breakfast club free of charge, immediately before the school day, to every pupil from Reception to Year 6. It may charge for extra time before that, but it cannot make your child attend the paid-for time to use the free club.
