What This School Does Well

Dagenham Park is a warm, inclusive school where pupils thrive academically and personally. The school has significantly improved its curriculum to be more ambitious and varied, and provides excellent support to help every pupil progress. Staff are committed to preparing all students well for their next stage, whether university, employment, or training.

Key Strengths

  • Strong inclusive culture where all pupils feel welcomed and supported, with many taking on leadership roles
  • Well-sequenced curriculum that has been substantially improved, helping pupils make progress and produce high-quality work
  • Effective behaviour systems and high attendance due to strong expectations and close family partnerships
  • Comprehensive pastoral support including careers advice, university visits, and tailored preparation for next steps
  • Caring approach to supporting pupils with SEND through their educational pathways

Areas for Improvement

  • Curriculum not always sufficiently adapted to meet the needs of a small number of pupils with SEND, hindering their progress
  • Published examination results do not yet reflect the improved progress current pupils are making through the new curriculum
  • Staff need clearer understanding of how to adapt teaching to address different pupil needs and starting points

Safeguarding

Safeguarding arrangements are effective, with clear systems in place and staff demonstrating strong understanding of procedures.

Extracurricular Activities

Duke of Edinburgh's award scheme with expeditions, sewing club, hip-hop club, educational visits to universities, art galleries, theatres and places of worship, junior leadership team, sports leaders programme, equalities group events, careers fair

Dagenham Park CofE School has maintained good standards following its previous inspection. Pupils are happy, well-behaved, and benefit from a carefully considered curriculum with strong support from staff in this highly inclusive community.
