What This School Does Well
All Saints creates a caring community where every child matters and is encouraged to succeed. The school combines strong academic teaching - particularly in reading - with excellent enrichment opportunities including trips to castles and museums, residential visits, and clubs in art, cooking, and singing. Pupils develop into confident, compassionate learners who understand the importance of health, well-being, and respect for different cultures.
Key Strengths
- Strong focus on teaching children to read fluently through consistent phonics instruction from Reception onwards
- Ambitious, well-planned curriculum with clear knowledge progression from early years to Year 6
- Excellent relationships between staff, pupils, and families with early identification of pupils needing extra support
- Staff receive strong professional development to build their subject expertise
- Pupils benefit from enriching experiences including trips, residential visits, and clubs that build confidence
Areas for Improvement
- Some teachers do not identify and address gaps in pupils' knowledge in certain subjects, preventing pupils from achieving their full potential
- Spelling, punctuation, and handwriting errors are not always caught and corrected in pupils' independent writing, leading to repeated mistakes
