What This School Does Well
Vernon Park is a happy, caring school where children behave well and enjoy coming to learn. The phonics programme is particularly strong, with many pupils reading fluently by the end of early years. The school is excellent at supporting children with additional needs and ensures every child can participate in enrichment activities regardless of family circumstances.

- Early reading is a priority with effective phonics teaching - pupils make secure progress and read fluently with books matched to their learning level
- Excellent support for pupils with SEND, including successful reintegration from the SEN unit into mainstream classrooms
