Ofsted's report card from its 3 February 2026 inspection grades Fareham Academy on 6 areas: 2 expected standard and 4 needs attention. Report cards replaced single-word judgements in November 2025, on a five-point scale from exceptional to urgent improvement.

Curriculum and teaching - Needs attention. "Teaching is not consistently effective across subjects."

Leadership and governance - Needs attention. "Leaders understand the school's strengths, the areas where improvement is needed and the actions they need to take."

Safeguarding standards were met.

Ofsted's next steps for the school: "• Leaders should ensure that their strategic approach to attendance results in declining absence rates for all pupils. • Leaders should ensure that they rigorously monitor the impact of their improvement strategies so that they secure the improvements needed. • Leaders should ensure that teachers' approaches, particularly checking for misconceptions and questioning, become more effective so that pupils secure foundational knowledge and achieve well across subjects".

In 2026, pupils at Fareham Academy averaged an Attainment 8 score of 39.2, the average grade across their best eight GCSEs. The average state school scored 45.6 in Hampshire and 47 across England.

25% passed English and maths at grade 5 or above, against 43% in Hampshire and 47% in England.
