What This School Does Well

Beacon Academy has secure subject knowledge among its teachers and provides engaging enrichment activities that pupils enjoy, including sport, arts and trips to theatres and sports events. The school effectively identifies the needs of pupils with SEND and makes good use of alternative provision for pupils with complex behavioural needs. History lessons are particularly strong, with teachers using effective questioning to build pupil knowledge and understanding.
