In its own words: "Valley Gardens is a large middle school in the heart of the Whitley Bay community. With over 770 pupils, we are bigger than many secondary schools. Valley Gardens is a school with high attainment, significantly in excess of the national averages."

From the headteacher's welcome: "One of the first questions that we ask all of our learners when they join our school is “what do you want to achieve?” It has become our school motto because we truly believe that our pupils can achieve whatever they set their minds to when they join our school."

The school runs a breakfast club from 7:30am and after-school care.
