Ofsted's report card from its 23 June 2026 inspection grades University of Leeds on 5 areas: 1 strong standard, 3 expected standard and 1 needs attention. Report cards replaced single-word judgements in November 2025, on a five-point scale from exceptional to urgent improvement.

Inclusion - Expected standard. "In most instances, leaders and staff identify apprentices' learning, wellbeing and additional support needs early in the apprenticeship and ensure that apprentices receive well-coordinated support from a range of university services, personal tutors and external partners."

Leadership and governance - Expected standard. "Leaders promptly identify most strengths and areas for improvement, and usually take effective action to tackle the latter."

Achievement - Strong standard. "A very high proportion of apprentices achieve their qualifications, many of them with distinction grades."

Curriculum and teaching - Expected standard. "Leaders understand the quality of apprenticeship curriculums well and take appropriate action to improve apprentices' experience."

Participation and development - Needs attention. "Leaders ensure that apprentices work in supportive, welcoming and inclusive learning environments."

Safeguarding standards were met.

Ofsted's next steps for the school: "Leaders should identify and implement actions to improve apprentices' attendance so that it is high on all apprenticeships"; "Leaders should ensure that apprentices on all apprenticeships develop an appropriate understanding of how to protect themselves from radical and extremist views"; "Leaders should ensure that apprentices on all apprenticeships receive consistently high-quality teaching that enables them to master the high volumes of research they need to learn"; "Leaders should ensure that any barriers to apprentices' learning are reduced swiftly and consistently. They should systematically review and adapt any support offered in a way that makes a significant difference to apprentices' learning and wellbeing".
