What This School Does Well

St Marie's is a calm, orderly place where children are happy and keen to learn. The school has made impressive improvements in mathematics and reading, and provides excellent support for children with additional needs. Behaviour is strong, with pupils being polite, kind, and proud of their work.

  • Mathematics teaching is a clear strength with teachers explaining concepts clearly and modeling learning effectively
  • Strong support for pupils with SEND, with early identification and effective strategies enabling them to learn well alongside peers
  • New phonics and reading approach is having positive impact, with pupils developing confidence and fluency
  • Pupils' behaviour and attitudes are good with strong, caring relationships throughout the school
