What This School Does Well
The school provides a caring, safe environment where children's behaviour is good and they are respectful to each other. The early years gets children off to a strong start with effective teaching, and pupils enjoy a broad curriculum enriched with trips, clubs and musical opportunities. Vulnerable pupils and those with special educational needs receive good support.

- The new interim headteacher is taking decisive action to improve the school
- Pupils benefit from a broad curriculum with enrichment opportunities including trips, clubs, and instrumental music lessons
Areas for Improvement
- Teaching quality is inconsistent and pupils do not make sufficient progress in reading, writing and maths by the end of key stages 1 and 2
- Teachers' expectations are not high enough, particularly for the most able pupils
- Leadership and governance are weak - governors lack skills to hold leaders accountable and leaders have not kept pace with national curriculum changes
- Middle leaders have not received sufficient training to monitor their subjects effectively
- Pupil premium funding for disadvantaged pupils is not being used effectively
