- Outstanding progress in communication, language and literacy skills through creative play and rich activities like storytelling with the life-size Gruffalo
- Outstanding provision for 'Terrific Twos' with highly skilled staff who understand very young children's needs
- Rigorous monitoring and tracking of children's progress with systems to identify and address areas for improvement
- Caring ethos with high expectations where children are confident to try new things

- Lack of parity in mathematical learning opportunities compared with literacy - fewer displays of mathematical language and fewer activities to develop maths skills
- Missed opportunities both indoors and outdoors for adults to help children become more familiar with the language and symbols of mathematics

Safeguarding is effective, with all required staff checks completed, regular training on protecting children from radicalisation and extremism, secure premises, thorough risk assessments, and strong support for vulnerable families.
