In its own words: "Avenue Junior School is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. We want every child to succeed, so we focus on excellent teaching and valuing every child. Our goal is to engage children in a purposeful curriculum that prepares them to be lifelong learners and positive agents of change."

From the headteacher's welcome: "Avenue School was built in 1893, and has had a long and proud tradition of educating children in the local community. This lovely Victorian building has seen many changes over its many years! It is currently a four-form entry Junior School with capacity for 480 pupils aged between 7 and 11 years. We are very proud of all our children."
