Achievement - Needs attention. "Pupils' results at the end of key stage 4 are, overall, below average."

Attendance and behaviour - Needs attention. "Pupils' overall attendance in recent years has been below average, including for disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities."

Safeguarding standards were met.

Ofsted's next steps for the school: "• Leaders should improve pupils' levels of attendance further, including that of disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, so that pupils are in school regularly and learning. • The school should ensure that current pupils' achievement in school translates into positive outcomes at the end of key stage 4, including for disadvantaged pupils. In particular, pupils need to be supported effectively to catch up on any missed learning when they are absent from school. • Leaders should ensure that teaching meets pupils' needs consistently well through highly effective adaptations in lessons, both to secure and deepen pupils' knowledge and to ensure that they make as much progress through the curriculum as they can. • Governors should sharpen their approaches to evaluating the rate of improvement in the school, especially linked to the key areas of pupils' attendance and achievement. • Leaders should improve relationships and levels of communication with parents who feel that this is an issue, in order to support pupils' learning fully".

In 2026, pupils at Warblington School averaged an Attainment 8 score of 36.5, the average grade across their best eight GCSEs. The average state school scored 45.6 in Hampshire and 47 across England.

31% passed English and maths at grade 5 or above, against 43% in Hampshire and 47% in England.

That is in line with 2025, when the score was 36.4.

Pupils sat GCSEs in 20 subjects; after English and maths, the most popular were Combined Science, Spanish and Art and Design.

For September 2026 entry, 113 families put Warblington School as their first choice and 220 named it as one of their preferences, for 156 places offered. It had fewer first-choice applications than places. Every family who put it first was offered a place there for 2026 entry.

102 parents answered Ofsted's Parent View survey about Warblington School (as of April 2026): 73% would recommend the school, 72% say their child is happy there and 30% of those with a view say bullying is dealt with well.

The strongest agreement was that their child feels safe (78%); the weakest, that the school deals with bullying well (among parents with a view) (30%).
