Results
The Department for Education's GCSE measures do not count IGCSEs, which many independent schools take instead of GCSEs, so the Attainment 8 and English and maths figures it publishes for The Wisdom Academy can understate its results. We do not rank or compare them; ask the school for its own GCSE and IGCSE results.

What This School Does Well
The school has made real progress in how it teaches children, particularly in reading, writing and maths where lessons are now clearer and better organised. Teachers now check what children understand during lessons and adjust teaching straight away if they need extra help. The school has also strengthened its safeguarding - children feel safe and know they can talk to adults about any worries.
Key Strengths
- Curriculum has been redesigned and is now clearly set out with good progression in English, mathematics and reading
- Teaching is now much more consistent with calm, well-established routines and effective use of questioning to check pupil understanding
- Assessment practices have improved significantly with regular checks to identify gaps and adapt teaching accordingly
- Safeguarding arrangements are effective with strong systems and a supportive culture where pupils feel safe
Areas for Improvement
- Leadership and management improvements are promising but have not been in place long enough to prove they can be sustained consistently
- Foundation subjects such as history, geography, science and art still need further development to match the quality of core subjects
- School needs to demonstrate continued consistency in applying standards across all areas over a longer period
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is effective with up-to-date policies, regular staff training, strong systems for checking visitors, and pupils reporting they feel safe and supported.
The Wisdom Academy is an independent school in Birmingham that was judged not to meet all required standards at its previous inspection. This progress monitoring visit found that while leaders have made significant improvements in curriculum, teaching, and assessment, these changes have not yet been in place long enough to demonstrate they can be sustained consistently across the whole school.
