The school provides excellent enrichment through trips, visiting speakers and leadership opportunities that help pupils understand the wider world and develop confidence. Staff are supportive and create a positive team environment where pupils know they can trust adults with their worries.

- Too many pupils do not reach expected standard in writing by end of key stage 2, particularly disadvantaged pupils
- Inconsistent teaching practices mean basic skills in reading, writing and maths are not being taught effectively
- Low-level disruption has increased and behaviour policy is not being applied consistently by all staff
- Support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities is inconsistent
- Early years does not have sharp enough focus on developing children's communication and language skills
