Teachers know their pupils really well and adapt teaching to help each child learn effectively, whether they need extra help or additional challenge. The school has created a calm, caring environment where pupils are kind to each other and genuinely enjoy learning.
Key Strengths
- Highly inclusive ethos with excellent specialist provision (the Den for sensory play and the Nest for wellbeing support) - pupils with additional needs make rapid progress
- Consistent, well-organised curriculum with skilled teaching - the 'Ravenhurst way' is familiar throughout the school and phonics results are above national standards
- Exceptional pastoral support and personal development programme - pupils show kindness, respect and strong emotional regulation
- Staff receive targeted training to adapt teaching effectively - leaders work closely with parents, carers and external agencies to remove barriers to learning
- Well-established behaviour routines and positive attitudes - pupils are polite, confident and bullying is rare

- Gaps between disadvantaged pupils and their non-disadvantaged peers widened in reading and mathematics in 2025
- Attendance for disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND needs to improve further to align with national figures
- Need to increase the proportion of pupils achieving at the higher standard of national curriculum expectations
