Safeguarding standards were met.

Ofsted's next steps for the school: "Leaders should ensure that their recent action to strengthen the teaching of mathematics enables older pupils to gain fluency in using numbers so that they have the knowledge to solve more complex problems"; "Leaders should continue to address the gaps that some older pupils have in their writing knowledge so that they write with fluency and accuracy during English lessons and across the curriculum in order to achieve well at the end of key stage 2"; "Leaders should build on their successful work to reduce absence from school so that the attendance rates for different groups of pupils continue to rise".

In its own words: "The school consists of the original single storey building and also a two storey extension. It is situated in a pleasant area between the village of Newhey and the Bentgate Housing Estate and is easily accessible by public or private transport."

The school runs a breakfast club from 7:30am and after-school care.

In 2025, 81% of Year 6 pupils at Newhey Community Primary School reached the expected standard in reading and 67% in maths. At the average state primary the figures were 74% and 73% in Rochdale and 77% and 75% across England.

Results rose from 54% in reading and 54% in maths in 2024.

For September 2026 entry, 30 families put Newhey Community Primary School as their first choice and 66 named it as one of their preferences, for 33 places offered. It had fewer first-choice applications than places. Every family who put it first was offered a place there for 2026 entry.
