What This School Does Well
Rushcroft provides excellent care and support where staff know families well and create a family-like atmosphere. Teaching has improved significantly with skilled staff using good phonics teaching and new maths approaches that challenge pupils to do their best. Pupils are proud of their learning and progress, enjoying subjects like mathematics and reading with enthusiasm and confidence.

Areas for Improvement
- Writing standards need to improve, particularly for boys and in spelling - school is implementing strategies to address this
- Attendance is not good enough for some pupils - persistent absence of a small number needs tackling
