Curriculum and teaching - Expected standard. "Leaders have worked hard to ensure that the broad curriculum sets out what pupils are to learn and how this knowledge will build as pupils move through the school."

Early years - Expected standard. "Staff use their checks from the start, and throughout the year, to put in place a curriculum which interests children and develops their skills."

Inclusion - Expected standard. "The number of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) has increased in recent years."

Leadership and governance - Expected standard. "Leaders know the school well."

Personal development and wellbeing - Expected standard. "The curriculum for personal, social and health education is clearly sequenced and builds pupils' knowledge over time."

Safeguarding standards were met.

In 2025, 79% of Year 6 pupils at Melbourn Primary School reached the expected standard in reading and 72% in maths. At the average state primary the figures were 76% and 74% in Cambridgeshire and 77% and 75% across England.
