Longlands is a happy, caring place where children feel safe and supported. The school combines strong teaching with excellent opportunities for children to develop resilience, responsibility and confidence through outdoor learning, trips and a wide range of activities. Staff are well-supported and work as a team, creating a positive environment where both children and adults thrive.
Key Strengths
- Pupils are happy, well-behaved and attend regularly - they look forward to coming to school
- Strong teaching of reading and phonics from Reception onwards, with parent support and 'reading ambassadors'
- Effective support for pupils with SEND, identified quickly and provided with specialist help when needed
- Excellent outdoor learning provision and a wide range of clubs, trips and enrichment activities
- Well-developed mathematics curriculum with staff trained to teach topics like translation and times tables fluently
