- Strong focus on oracy (speaking and listening) embedded throughout all parts of school life
- Excellent pupil behaviour and a culture of kindness and care that pervades the school
- Well-planned personal development programme with good uptake of clubs and activities like football, choir and art
- Strong phonics and multiplication check results that are well above national averages
Areas for Improvement
- Inconsistent teaching of writing - some pupils' spelling, punctuation and handwriting is not developed as well as expected
- Writing tasks for pupils with SEND sometimes too challenging, affecting quality of their work
- Systems for evaluating impact of disadvantaged pupil funding not as precise as those for SEND pupils
- Disadvantaged pupils' attendance and key stage 2 outcomes still lag behind peers
- PSHE knowledge occasionally not as deep as leaders intend
