What This School Does Well
On the foundation pathway, Green Corridor does excellent work. Tutors use information about what learners know to create personalised learning plans, provide meaningful feedback with clear next steps, and thoroughly track progress against individual targets linked to learners' care plans. Learners make at least the progress expected of them.
Key Strengths
- Foundation pathway tutors provide good-quality feedback and thoroughly track learner progress
- English and mathematics tutors consistently identify and correct errors, and provide helpful explanations
- Leaders have merged curriculum pathways and secured management capacity to improve English and mathematics teaching
Areas for Improvement
- Vocational pathway lacks a coherent, well-structured curriculum and assessment is too narrow
- Staff feedback on the vocational pathway is not helping learners know what they have done well or what to improve
- Progress tracking and target-setting are inconsistent between the two pathways, particularly on vocational courses
- Leadership and governance lack sufficient further education and SEND expertise
Green Corridor is a further education provider for learners with high needs, operating two curriculum pathways (foundation and vocational). The monitoring inspection found the provider requires improvement, with inconsistent progress across the two pathways.
