In its own words: "Glyne Gap is a school for pupils aged 2-19 with severe and profound learning disabilities. Many of our pupils have other additional needs including physical, medical, sensory and autistic spectrum condition. We want our pupils to lead happy and fulfilled lives now and in the future and we believe learning is the key to unlocking such lives."

25 parents answered Ofsted's Parent View survey about Glyne Gap School (as of September 2025): 96% would recommend the school, 96% say their child is happy there and 100% of those with a view say bullying is dealt with well.

The strongest agreement was that the school deals with bullying well (among parents with a view) (100%); the weakest, that pupils behave well (88%).

Of the 13 pupils who finished Year 11 in 2023/24, 100% stayed in education or training for at least two terms.

35.7% of pupils are eligible for free school meals, and 8.6% speak English as an additional language, according to the 2026 school census.

The largest ethnic groups are White British (80%), Black (5%) and other ethnic groups (5%).

In 2026, 8 pupils (5.7%) received SEN support and 132 (94.3%) had an education, health and care plan. The most common need among them is a severe learning difficulty.

Glyne Gap School provides for pupils with visual impairment, speech, language and communication needs, autism, physical disability, moderate learning difficulties and severe learning difficulties.

The nearest railway station is Bexhill Rail Station, about 1.1 miles away in a straight line.

In August 2026, police recorded 99 crimes within a mile of the school, most often anti-social behaviour, violence and sexual offences and public order offences. That is well above the typical figure around schools in East Sussex (65), as is usual near a town centre.
