What This School Does Well

Fazakerley Primary School creates a warm, welcoming environment where children thrive both academically and personally. Behaviour is exceptional throughout the school, with pupils showing remarkable kindness and respect for one another. The curriculum is ambitious and well-thought-out, offering enriching experiences through educational visits and a wide range of clubs and activities that help children develop into well-rounded young people.

Key Strengths

  • Exceptional behaviour and conduct - pupils are respectful, kind, and serve as excellent role models for one another
  • Well-designed ambitious curriculum with meaningful connections between subjects and enriching educational visits
  • Strong early reading programme with well-trained staff teaching phonics from Reception Year
  • Outstanding personal development opportunities including clubs, after-school activities, and community involvement
  • Excellent wider curriculum focusing on personal, social, health and economic education

Areas for Improvement

  • English activities are not matched closely enough to pupils' phonics knowledge, making it difficult for some early-stage readers and pupils with SEND to access certain texts and practise writing
  • Need to ensure better alignment between English curriculum activities and pupils' individual learning needs
