What This School Does Well
This is a warm, inclusive school where every child is welcomed and valued. Reading is a real strength with excellent phonics teaching, and the school provides expert support for children with additional needs through their specialist Treehouse provision. Staff know pupils well as individuals and create a calm, purposeful learning environment where children are happy to come to school.

- Strong inclusive vision with well-judged support for pupils with SEND in The Treehouse specialist provision
- Positive behaviour and attendance, with calm and orderly classrooms and high staff expectations
- Ambitious and broad curriculum with specialist teaching in subjects like physical education
- Strong early years provision with careful progression from age 2 through Reception
Areas for Improvement
- Some disadvantaged pupils do not achieve as well as they should by end of Key Stage 2, particularly in reading
- Assessment in the wider curriculum is less well developed than in English and mathematics
- Pupils not always clear about the purpose of educational visits and what they are expected to learn
- Pupils' understanding of fundamental British values, equality and respect for different backgrounds is less secure
- Governor monitoring needs to be sharper to ensure curriculum and targeted funding have positive impact
