Craven College excels at creating an inclusive, welcoming environment where every learner can thrive. The college has strong links with local employers and industry experts, giving students real-world experience - from working with Michelin star chefs to learning from gamekeepers. Staff are highly trained in supporting learners with additional needs, and most students achieve their qualifications and move on to positive next steps.

- Strong leadership with clear vision and values, fostering open communication and staff development
- Effective engagement with employers across diverse sectors to shape responsive curricula linked to regional skills needs
- Improved achievement in English and mathematics over the past 3 years
- Excellent work experience and industry connections, including opportunities with Michelin star chefs and gamekeepers
Areas for Improvement
- Level 1 learners do not develop digital skills as effectively as those on level 2 and 3 courses
- In a few instances, teachers do not set high enough industry expectations or reinforce workplace pace
- Need to increase the proportion of construction learners attending work experience placements
