What This School Does Well

This school excels at creating a supportive, positive environment where all pupils thrive academically and personally. The Principal's outstanding leadership has created a school with excellent behaviour standards and pupils who are happy and feel safe. Pupils achieve exceptionally well in their studies, particularly in the French national exams, and develop strong bilingual skills that prepare them well for their future.

Key Strengths

  • Outstanding pupil achievement with exceptionally high performance in the Diplôme National du Brevet over three years
  • Excellent behaviour and attitudes to learning, fostered through outstanding pastoral care and a very positive school ethos
  • Strong bilingual curriculum that develops pupils' literacy and numeracy skills in both French and English to well above national norms
  • Principal's outstanding leadership in securing the highest levels of achievement and personal development
  • Broad range of enrichment activities that support spiritual, moral, social and cultural development

Areas for Improvement

  • Some pockets of weaker teaching exist and best practice is not consistently shared across the school
  • Progress tracking systems need to be refined to monitor pupils' year-on-year development with greater precision
  • Pupils need more opportunities to write at length across all subjects, particularly in the primary department
  • Written feedback to pupils often lacks specific guidance on how to improve their writing

Safeguarding

Safeguarding arrangements meet requirements and are effective.

Extracurricular Activities

Sports centre, educational exchanges with schools in Germany, Morocco, Spain and Uruguay, citizenship programme, careers advice for secondary pupils, after-school care

This is a good school with outstanding pupil achievement. The Principal's outstanding leadership, combined with a broad bilingual curriculum and high-quality teaching, enables pupils to achieve exceptionally well, particularly in the Diplôme National du Brevet.
