Clapton Girls' Academy: admissions history

For September 2026 entry, 258 families put Clapton Girls' Academy as their first choice and 559 named it as one of their preferences, for 171 places offered. That is 1.5 first choices for every place. 104 families who put it first were not offered a place there.

First-choice demand has risen from 217 in 2021 to 258 in 2026, while places went from 178 to 171.

Across Hackney, 75% of families were offered their first-choice secondary school for 2026 entry, and 96% were offered one of the schools they named.

In 2025, families in Hackney lodged 164 appeals against secondary school offers; 107 reached a hearing and 12 succeeded (11.2% of those heard).
