From the headteacher's welcome: "Bodmin College is an 11-18 Academy situated in North Cornwall with approximately 1500 students on roll, including around 250 in the Sixth Form and 45 in our Area Resource Base, Greenfield. The school is the only secondary school in the town of Bodmin."

In 2026, pupils at Bodmin College averaged an Attainment 8 score of 47.1, the average grade across their best eight GCSEs. The average state school scored 44.7 in Cornwall and 47 across England.

49% passed English and maths at grade 5 or above, against 42% in Cornwall and 47% in England.

That is up from 46 in 2025.

Its most recent Progress 8 score, for 2024, was -0.44: pupils made below average progress compared with pupils nationally who started secondary school at the same level. Progress 8 was not published for 2026.

Disadvantaged pupils averaged an Attainment 8 of 31.6, against 53.5 for other pupils at the school - a gap of 21.9 points.

Pupils sat GCSEs in 27 subjects; after English and maths, the most popular were Combined Science, Geography and History.

For September 2026 entry, 234 families put Bodmin College as their first choice and 297 named it as one of their preferences, for 237 places offered. It had fewer first-choice applications than places. Every family who put it first was offered a place there for 2026 entry.

Bodmin College is one of 16 schools run by Cornwall Education Learning Trust, an academy trust.

Across the trust's secondary schools, pupils averaged an Attainment 8 score of 47.7 in 2024/25.

257 parents answered Ofsted's Parent View survey about Bodmin College (as of September 2025): 37% would recommend the school, 48% say their child is happy there and 38% of those with a view say bullying is dealt with well.

The strongest agreement was that pupils behave well (64%); the weakest, that the school supports their child's wider development (35%).

Of the 245 pupils who finished Year 11 in 2023/24, 78% stayed in education or training for at least two terms, including 25% to a further education college, 6% to an apprenticeship and 3% into work.

Of the 144 students who left the sixth form in 2023/24, 27% went on to university or other higher education, 3% to apprenticeships and 34% into work. 14% went to one of the most selective third of universities.

6.1% speak English as an additional language, against 18.8% on average, according to the 2026 school census.

In 2026, 250 pupils (20.2%) received SEN support and 80 (6.5%) had an education, health and care plan, against 16.2% and 4.6% at the average state school. The most common need among them is social, emotional and mental health needs.

Bodmin College has a SEN unit for specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, multi-sensory impairment, physical disability and severe learning difficulties: 51 places, 49 pupils on roll.

The nearest tram or metro stop is Bodmin General (Bodmin & Wenford Railway), about 720 metres away (roughly a 9-minute walk).

6 bus stops are within a five-minute walk; the closest is Community College (nw-bound), 80 metres away.

In August 2026, police recorded 73 crimes within a mile of the school, most often violence and sexual offences, criminal damage and arson and public order offences. That is well above the typical figure around schools in Cornwall (14), as is usual near a town centre.

In 2024/25, Bodmin College issued 116 suspensions, 8.1 for every 100 pupils (the average state school: 6.3), and 1 permanent exclusion.
