What This School Does Well
The school has made significant improvements to safeguarding practices and premises maintenance. Pupils receive teaching about personal safety, healthy relationships and online risks. However, the school continues to refuse to teach about equality and the rights of all groups in society, which is a serious concern for parents.
Key Strengths
- Improved safeguarding record-keeping with clear logging of concerns and follow-up actions
- Comprehensive risk assessment policies that are well-communicated to staff and pupils
- Effective maintenance routines across all four school sites, now clean and well-maintained
- Teaching of personal safety including healthy relationships and consent in curriculum
Areas for Improvement
- School refuses to teach pupils about legal rights of LGBT people, failing to meet equality requirements
- Curriculum does not adequately promote respect for protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010
- Leadership does not ensure the school meets its statutory responsibilities regarding equality and diversity promotion
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is now effective - the school has implemented appropriate record-keeping systems with clear dated follow-up actions and regular monitoring by safeguarding leaders.
