What This School Does Well
This is a warm, inclusive school where children are genuinely happy and eager to learn. Staff know each child exceptionally well and provide excellent pastoral support. The school offers exciting enrichment opportunities including outdoor adventures like skiing and mountaineering, helping all pupils - especially disadvantaged children - to shine and develop confidence.
Key Strengths
- Excellent attendance and behaviour with high levels of pupil self-control and respect for others
- Strong early years provision that gives children a flying start and prepares them well for key stage 1
- High attainment in reading and phonics screening, with pupils developing enthusiasm for books
- Effective support for disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs
- Ambitious, well-planned curriculum with strong links between subjects to deepen understanding
Areas for Improvement
- Pupils do not currently attain as well as they should in the multiplication tables check
- Some teaching adaptations in the classroom need refinement to better match individual pupil needs
