Withington Girls' School in detail

Withington Girls' School in its own words

In its own words: "We aim to open as many doors as possible for our pupils in terms of learning. Respect for ourselves and others alongside personal responsibility underpin our school community. We celebrate diversity, value teamwork, and encourage everyone to play their part, with older pupils and alumnae providing inspirational role models."

From the headteacher's welcome: "I’m a runner (enthusiastic rather than fast), a drummer (still very much learning), and a lifelong lover of music, from Wagner to the Wu-Tang Clan. Ultimately, though, those are simply hobbies of mine. What defines me is a deep belief in the transformative power of a great education."

Clubs and activities named on the school's website include football, netball, hockey, tennis, yoga, dance, drama and choir.

The school runs after-school care.
