White Mere is a caring school where children enjoy learning and make good progress, particularly in reading and writing. Teachers work brilliantly together to plan engaging activities and provide excellent support for all learners, including those with special needs. The school creates a happy, safe environment where pupils are keen to learn and show respect for one another.

  • Pupils achieve above average standards in reading and writing with good overall progress
  • Nearly always good quality teaching with examples of outstanding practice that engages and enthuses pupils
  • Excellent support for disabled pupils and those with special educational needs through collaborative planning by teachers and teaching assistants
  • Good behaviour and positive attitudes to learning, with pupils feeling safe and respected
  • Strong leadership that has raised standards in writing, phonics and teaching quality since the last inspection
