What This School Does Well
Thurstable School provides an ambitious, well-taught curriculum where pupils build knowledge securely and benefit from caring staff support. The school excels at developing pupils' character and preparing them for life after school through encounters with employers and training providers. Pupils are encouraged to become active citizens, with strong opportunities to develop leadership skills and broaden their interests through a wide range of clubs, trips and activities.

- Well-designed curriculum with careful planning of important knowledge and the order pupils learn it
- Strong teaching that uses subject knowledge effectively and checks pupil understanding regularly
- Excellent support for pupils with SEND, with lessons skillfully adapted to ensure all can access the curriculum

- Effective 'Endeavour centre' providing support for pupils who struggle with attendance
