Key Strengths
- Pupils achieve highly across the curriculum with particularly strong examination results at key stage 4 and excellent support for pupils with special educational needs
- Impressively high attendance rates for all groups of pupils, with a strong sense of belonging and positive school culture
- Extensive personal development programme focused on developing ambitious, respectful and responsible citizens
- Warm and welcoming environment with embedded culture of respect, independence and pride
- Comprehensive 'brighter futures' programme offering a huge range of opportunities in arts, sports and clubs
Areas for Improvement
- Teaching of literacy and oracy skills is not yet consistent across all areas of the school
- Further work needed to ensure curriculum is taught as well as intended, particularly in key stage 3
- Some staff need clearer understanding of specific adaptive practices needed for pupils with SEND and disadvantaged pupils in lessons
