What This School Does Well
TEC Partnership has invested in excellent, industry-standard facilities where learners can gain real workplace experience through placements and projects with local employers. Teachers are experienced in their vocational areas and use creative teaching methods to engage learners. The partnership provides good support for learners with special needs and those facing difficult personal circumstances.
Key Strengths
- Industry-standard teaching facilities including specialist animal care centre, manufacturing suites with wind turbine test rigs, and training kitchens
- Teachers use vocational expertise effectively and provide meaningful work experience opportunities
- Leaders have appointed trained SEND managers and offer trauma-informed practice training to support vulnerable learners
Areas for Improvement
- Safeguarding culture is not open and positive - leaders have not ensured all staff are vigilant about protecting vulnerable learners
- Attendance is too low and declining, particularly in English and mathematics lessons
- Achievement rates are low - too few level 3 learners remain on programmes and progress in English and maths is slow
- Inconsistent careers advice and guidance across different campuses
Safeguarding
Safeguarding standards not met - leaders have not created an open and positive culture of safeguarding and do not have effective oversight of attendance, particularly for learners with known safeguarding concerns.
Extracurricular Activities
Music performance, sporting activities, international competitions, work experience placements, theatre company productions, photography commissions
TEC Partnership is a multi-campus provider offering education programmes for young people aged 14-16 and adults. The partnership has invested in industry-standard facilities and works with employers to meet local skills needs, but faces significant challenges with safeguarding culture, attendance, and consistent achievement across all areas.
