Ofsted's report card from its 5 May 2026 inspection grades TEC Partnership on 6 areas: 3 expected standard and 3 needs attention. Report cards replaced single-word judgements in November 2025, on a five-point scale from exceptional to urgent improvement.

Contribution to meeting skills needs - Expected standard. "Leaders work strategically with a range of employers and stakeholders to understand accurately local and regional skill gaps."

Inclusion - Expected standard. "Leaders generally ensure that learners' and apprentices' needs are identified before and during enrolment."

Leadership and governance - Needs attention. "Leaders and those responsible for governance have not accurately identified the concerns in relation to safeguarding at the 14-16 academy or the Grimsby Institute."

Curriculum and teaching - Expected standard. "Leaders are proud of their broad curriculum that enables learners from varying starting points, including those aged 14 to 16, to participate in education so they can make progress towards their future goals."

Achievement - Needs attention. "Learners who attend and remain on their programmes develop the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their qualifications."

Participation and development - Needs attention. "Too many learners do not attend their lessons routinely."

Safeguarding standards were NOT met.

In 2026, pupils at TEC Partnership averaged an Attainment 8 score of 10.5, the average grade across their best eight GCSEs. The average state school scored 38.3 in North East Lincolnshire and 47 across England.

5% passed English and maths at grade 5 or above, against 31% in North East Lincolnshire and 47% in England.

That is down from 12 in 2025.

Its most recent Progress 8 score, for 2024, was -2.65: pupils made well below average progress compared with pupils nationally who started secondary school at the same level. Progress 8 was not published for 2026.

Pupils sat GCSEs in 12 subjects; after English and maths, the most popular were Combined Science, Childcare Skills and Art and Design.

Of the 124 pupils who finished Year 11 in 2023/24, 71% stayed in education or training for at least two terms, including 57% to a further education college, 3% to an apprenticeship and 5% into work.

Of the 1988 students who left the sixth form in 2023/24, 8% went on to university or other higher education, 11% to apprenticeships and 35% into work. 1% went to one of the most selective third of universities.

The nearest railway station is Grimsby Town Rail Station, about 0.8 miles away in a straight line.

11 bus stops are within a five-minute walk; the closest is Laceby Road (o/s 11), 110 metres away.

In August 2026, police recorded 492 crimes within a mile of the school, most often violence and sexual offences, criminal damage and arson and shoplifting. That is well above the typical figure around schools in North East Lincolnshire (211), as is usual near a town centre.
