Ofsted's report card from its 6 January 2026 inspection grades Sun Hill Infant and Preschool on 7 areas: 4 strong standard and 3 expected standard. Report cards replaced single-word judgements in November 2025, on a five-point scale from exceptional to urgent improvement.

Attendance and behaviour - Strong standard. "Rates of attendance for all pupils, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those from other disadvantaged groups, are high."

Early years - Strong standard. "Leaders have implemented a carefully constructed and highly ambitious curriculum that clearly identifies the important knowledge and skills children need to learn in order to be ready for key stage 1."

Inclusion - Strong standard. "At Sun Hill, inclusion is a priority."

Personal development and wellbeing - Strong standard. "The school's thoughtful and carefully considered programme for pupils' personal development is a real strength."

Achievement - Expected standard. "Generally, pupils achieve well."

Curriculum and teaching - Expected standard. "The school's curriculum clearly identifies the important knowledge and skills that pupils need to learn and when they will learn them."

Leadership and governance - Expected standard. "Leaders have a clear vision for their school."

Safeguarding standards were met.

Ofsted's next steps for the school: "• Leaders should develop the curriculum and teaching to enable pupils to secure consistently deep and detailed understanding in all subjects so that they can achieve highly across the curriculum. • Leaders should continue to embed their work to improve pupils' spelling and handwriting fully so that these improvements are reflected consistently and securely in the quality of pupils' writing".
