The school works hard to support pupils' mental health and well-being through warm staff relationships and a thoughtful personal, social and health education programme.

Key Strengths

  • Strong behaviour policy with good pupil conduct, particularly at social times
  • Well-structured curriculum in mathematics and English with clear progression from early years to Year 6

  • Effective PSHE curriculum promoting equality and fair treatment

Areas for Improvement

  • Phonics curriculum is new and inconsistently implemented, with insufficient staff training
  • Reading support for pupils who fall behind is not routine, and reading books don't always match phonics learning
  • Curriculum in some foundation subjects is not well organized, lacking clear progression and knowledge building
  • Learning is not always adapted to meet the needs of pupils with SEND, hindering their progress
  • Inconsistent identification and addressing of misconceptions and gaps in pupils' learning during lessons
