In its own words: "St Mary & St Michael's is a Catholic Voluntary Aided Primary School and an important part of the parish community. Although there was a Catholic School in the town in the eighteenth century, the first parts of our present building were erected in 1858."

From the headteacher's welcome: "We believe passionately in the education and opportunities we provide for our children and place Christ at the centre of everything we do. Our desire is for every child in school to have the very best experience and opportunities they can - in everything!"
