What This School Does Well

This is a warm, nurturing school where girls thrive in an incredibly supportive environment. Pupils show outstanding behaviour and attitudes to learning, with a strong sense of community and social responsibility. The school offers a rich curriculum with excellent enrichment activities including violin lessons, outdoor learning, sports and regular trips, alongside a thoughtful approach to developing pupils' physical and mental wellbeing.

Key Strengths

  • Exceptionally calm and supportive environment where pupils feel happy and safe - they treat each other as 'sisters' and help one another learn
  • Exemplary behaviour with consistently high levels of respect and self-control, plus very high attendance
  • Outstanding personal development programme teaching pupils about healthy relationships, equalities, social responsibility and mental wellbeing through daily meditation
  • Well-structured ambitious curriculum with recent improvements to help pupils develop deep understanding
  • All pupils participate in extra-curricular clubs and learn violin, with enrichment trips to museums and local landmarks

Areas for Improvement

  • Curriculum delivery is inconsistent - at times pupils complete work that does not allow them to fully demonstrate what they know and can do
  • Early reading approach to phonics needs refinement to ensure all pupils read books aligned with the school's chosen programme
  • Staff need further training and support to deliver the curriculum consistently well across all subjects

Safeguarding

Safeguarding arrangements are effective and the school has created an open and positive culture that puts pupils' interests first.
