Ofsted's report card from its 3 March 2026 inspection grades Sheffield Hallam University on 5 areas: 4 strong standard and 1 expected standard. Report cards replaced single-word judgements in November 2025, on a five-point scale from exceptional to urgent improvement.
Inclusion - Strong standard. "Leaders have a very well-established culture of inclusion."
Leadership and governance - Strong standard. "Leaders and governors have adeptly managed a period of rapid growth and change in the university and higher education sector."
Achievement - Strong standard. "Apprentices make excellent progress from their starting points and most achieve their qualifications very well."
Participation and development - Strong standard. "Leaders create a highly inclusive and supportive environment in which apprentices feel safe, valued and able to participate fully."
Curriculum and teaching - Expected standard. "Leaders provide carefully chosen apprenticeships which address regional and national skills gaps."
