The school successfully re-engages pupils who have had negative experiences at other schools, helping them develop confidence, communication skills and a love of learning.

- Exceptional pastoral support and staff empathy that helps pupils manage their emotions and build confidence
- Highly inclusive approach with thorough understanding of pupils' individual needs and well-designed transition programmes
- Strong focus on life skills, independence and preparation for adulthood including Duke of Edinburgh Award, forest school and work experience
- Effective behaviour management using functional assessments and evidence-based interventions, significantly reducing physical interventions
- Comprehensive post-16 curriculum focused on sustainable positive outcomes for students
Areas for Improvement
- Some inconsistency in teaching quality due to significant number of new staff - not all teachers give pupils enough time to process thinking or match work closely to next steps
- Some pupils show inconsistency in letter formation and accurate use of punctuation in writing
- A small number of pupils still require regular intervention and lose learning time as a result
- Leaders recognise need for further staff training in some specific curriculum areas
