Ofsted's report card from its 7 July 2026 inspection grades Pensby Primary School on 7 areas: 5 expected standard and 2 needs attention. Report cards replaced single-word judgements in November 2025, on a five-point scale from exceptional to urgent improvement.

Leadership and governance - Expected standard. "Leaders have high expectations for all pupils."

Personal development and wellbeing - Expected standard. "Leaders have implemented a well-designed personal development curriculum."

Achievement - Needs attention. "Over time, too many pupils have not achieved well by the end of key stage 2."

Curriculum and teaching - Needs attention. "While leaders have taken appropriate action to improve the curriculum, the standard of teaching remains inconsistent."

Safeguarding standards were met.

The school runs a breakfast club from 7:30am and after-school care, from £2.35 per day.

In 2025, 72% of Year 6 pupils at Pensby Primary School reached the expected standard in reading and 58% in maths. At the average state primary the figures were 73% and 69% in Wirral and 77% and 75% across England.

Results fell from 71% in reading and 71% in maths in 2024.

With small year groups, a few pupils can move these figures by several points.

For September 2026 entry, 24 families put Pensby Primary School as their first choice and 58 named it as one of their preferences, for 30 places offered. It had fewer first-choice applications than places. Every family who put it first was offered a place there for 2026 entry.
