Ofsted's next steps for the school: "• Leaders should ensure that highly effective teaching is consistently embedded across all subjects and year groups to ensure that pupils achieve as well as they can. • Leaders should continue to refine the early years curriculum, ensuring that there is a clear progression from the Nursery to Reception classes for activities within the continuous provision, so opportunities to deepen learning are maximised. • Leaders should rigorously monitor the impact of support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities to ensure that the strategies chosen make a sustained difference to reduce pupils' barriers to learning and/or wellbeing".

In its own words: "Mottram St Andrew Primary Academy opened on its current site in 1908. Our catchment area is the parish of Mottram St. Andrew, but children travel from a wide area to attend our wonderful school. Due to our record of success, we were the first primary academy in Cheshire East."

The school runs a breakfast club from 7:45am and after-school care until 6:00pm.

In 2025, 85% of Year 6 pupils at Mottram St Andrew Primary Academy reached the expected standard in reading and 85% in maths. At the average state primary the figures were 80% and 78% in Cheshire East and 77% and 75% across England.

Results fell from 92% in reading and 92% in maths in 2024.

With small year groups, a few pupils can move these figures by several points.

For September 2026 entry, 21 families put Mottram St Andrew Primary Academy as their first choice and 70 named it as one of their preferences, for 26 places offered. It had fewer first-choice applications than places. Every family who put it first was offered a place there for 2026 entry.
