Reading is a real focus, with an excellent phonics programme and a wonderful library that children love to visit. The school does exceptional work developing children's character - teaching them to be kind, resilient and reflective from the very start.

Key Strengths

  • Outstanding personal development work, teaching pupils to be reflective and kind from Reception onwards - play leaders help younger children with friendships and conflict resolution
  • Strong reading provision with an effective phonics programme, well-matched books, and a redeveloped library that pupils visit regularly
  • Excellent behaviour and conduct throughout the school, with clear routines established early and pupils taking on meaningful responsibilities like school councillors and library monitors
  • Good subject knowledge across most areas, with clear explanations helping pupils think deeply about their learning
