- Strong focus on reading as a priority across the school, with one-to-one support matched to individual needs
- Effective attendance monitoring and support that works closely with families to help pupils re-engage with education
- Calm, orderly school environment where behaviour is positive, learning is purposeful, and staff build warm, trusting relationships with pupils
- Comprehensive careers programme that prepares pupils for adulthood with personalised guidance and meaningful work experience placements
Areas for Improvement
- Curriculum sequencing and assessment of knowledge need to be developed more precisely in some areas to better prepare pupils for their next stage of education or employment
- Professional learning and development programmes are relatively new and some aspects are not yet as well developed as they could be
- Some classroom activities do not consistently support the intended learning outcomes that staff want pupils to develop
- Monitoring systems for pupils' wider experiences need to be strengthened to ensure a comprehensive personal development offer
