The school provides an impressive range of clubs, music, drama and outdoor learning experiences that enrich their education and develop them as responsible citizens. With strong achievement in reading and writing, plus a happy, cohesive community where children behave well and feel safe, your child will get a well-rounded education and be well-prepared for secondary school.

  • Strong achievement in reading and communication, with excellent progress in phonics
  • Good behaviour and positive attitudes to learning with a unified, cohesive school community
  • Improving teaching quality under new headteacher leadership
  • Well-prepared Reception children with good independence and early literacy skills

Areas for Improvement

  • Teaching does not help all pupils make rapid progress - some activities are too easy or difficult for particular pupils
  • Insufficient time given for pupils to practise skills and respond to teacher marking
  • Spelling not corrected enough and pupils do not receive time to learn from their mistakes
  • More able pupils sometimes have to wait before moving on to new work
  • Subject coordinators not yet fully trained for their developing roles
