In its own words: "Hawes Side Academy is a brand new state of the art building opened in November 2016. Built as part of the government led Priority Schools Building Programme our school is purpose built to meet the needs of a thriving primary academy."

From the headteacher's welcome: "Hawes Side Academy is a larger-than-average primary school located in the South Shore area of Blackpool. Originally opened on 12th January 1937, the school transitioned to academy status in September 2012. In the 2015-16 academic year, we were fortunate to be part of the Priority Schools Building Programme, and in November 2016, we proudly moved into our state-of-the-art facilities."
