- Strong early years provision with skilled staff who extend children's thinking and develop communication skills effectively
- Pupils with SEND are well supported with appropriate access to the curriculum and external specialist services
- Good focus on physical and mental health, with regular outdoor learning, swimming lessons, and a range of clubs and sports activities
- High expectations for behaviour creating a kind, respectful learning environment with sensitive approaches to challenging behaviour
- Good attendance focus with school intervening quickly when pupils are at risk of lower attendance
Areas for Improvement
- Writing curriculum, particularly spelling, punctuation and grammar, is not having strong enough impact on pupil learning, leading to repeated mistakes
- Pupils often remember activities they complete without recalling the key knowledge they should have learned
- Inconsistent checking of what pupils know in the wider curriculum, meaning misconceptions are not always identified and resolved
- Inconsistent teaching of phonics beyond Reception Year, resulting in some pupils not becoming fluent readers by end of key stage 2
