- Strong promotion of reading with effective phonics teaching and quick catch-up support for struggling readers

Areas for Improvement
- In some subjects, staff do not have high enough expectations and do not provide enough opportunities for pupils to extend their knowledge and apply what they have learned
- Staff do not always quickly identify when pupils have mastered key concepts, so some pupils ready to move on are not challenged enough
- School does not use available information effectively enough to identify gaps in pupils' understanding or reasons for poor attendance
